Weather disruption in Jharkhand: Fog, Cold, and Rain Disrupt Daily Life

Ranchi: The residents of Jharkhand are grappling with a disruption in daily life as a result of dense fog, cold weather, and intermittent rain. In response to the prevailing weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert effective until January 20.

Meteorological Center scientist Abhishek Anand predicts continued dense fog on January 19, emphasizing the need for caution. The western disturbance has led to widespread fog across the entire state, keeping the sun at bay and compelling people to stay indoors. Street activity saw a noticeable increase only in the afternoon, with the cold weather impacting daily routines.

Adding to the complexity of the weather situation, several districts experienced rainfall. Simdega recorded the highest rainfall at 54.4 mm, followed by Manoharpur with 43.6 mm, Chakradharpur with 52.2 mm, Chaibasa with 18.1 mm, Bokaro with 11.4 mm, Dumka with 14.7 mm, and Maithon with 16.8 mm. Rainfall has also been reported in many areas of the southern and central parts of the state.

As a precautionary measure, classes up to the fifth grade will commence from 10 am, and flights may be affected due to the adverse weather conditions. The Meteorological Department advises residents to stay updated on the evolving weather situation and take necessary precautions during this period of disruption.
