Dhanbad, Mar 22: Despite second highest numbers of voters, doctors of Dhanbad and Jamshedpur feel ignored in new committee of Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JSHSA).
As per list issued by chief election officer Dr Lal Majhi Ranchi had highest numbers of voters ( doctors) 168 followed by Dhanbad 115, Palamu 100 and Jamshedpur ( East Singhbhum ) 90.
But in 44 members new committee neither Dhanbad nor Jamshedpur has got any post .
In the election held on January 20, president Dr Bimlesh Singh, 7 vice –president out of 8, treasurer Dr Stephan Xess, 8 joint secretary were elected unopposed. The elections held for post of convener, secretary and v ice-president of Kolhan Division.
No doctor from Dhanbad contested for any post. Though Jamshedpur’s Dr Shahid Anwar contested for Kolhan Division’s vice-president post, he lost to Dr Jagannath Hembram of West Singhbhum.
Senior medical officers of Dhanbad , Jamshedpur said that since both the districts are prominent after Ranchi both should have been given a place at least in 6 members executive committee or in 18 members Central Committee.
Jamshedpur civil surgeon Dr Shahir Pal, who was to contest election for president post, has also not given any role.
Executive members
Six nominated executive members are Dr Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Dr Sanjay Kujur Dr Rahul Kishor Singh, Dr Bimlesh Kumar, Dr Chitranjan Kumar Pankaj and Dr Santosh Kumar.
18 Central Committee members
Dr Pankaj Kumar, Dr Lal Majhi, Dr Raman Kumar, Dr RK Singh, Dr Pradeep Singh, Dr Akhilesh jha, Dr Vijay Kishore Rajak, Dr Usha Singh, Dr Pearl Esther Minj, Dr Silpa Tigga, Dr Vikash Kumar, Dr Rajeev Kumar, Dr Rajeev Ranjan, Dr Amresh Kumar, Dr Rohit Singh, Dr Ritesh Ranjan, Dr Hidaytullah Khan and Dr Preetish Pronoy.
JSHA secretary defends
JSHSA secretary Dr Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh said that it was open election and interested medical officers who wanted to play active role contested the polls. However, the new committee focused on quality not on quantity.
Whereas Dhanbad is concerned , JSHSA district body was defunct there. Three months ago new committee ( Dr Ashutosh Singh president and Dr Jitesh Ranjan secretary) were formed and they are working excellent.
“JSHSA’s fundamental mission is to solve problems of medical officers so that doctors of state do not flee and medicos of other states come . We also want toimprove health services so that patients can get quality treatment “, said Dr Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh.
