DLSA extends support to kin of accident victims

Seraikela, May 20: Taking suo motu cognizance of the death of three youth of Seraikela in a road accident on the Seraikela-Chaibasa main road on the night of May 16, JHALSA Executive President, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, directed the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) to make legal aid available to the family of the deceased immediately.

In pursuance of the suo motu directive, Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum- Chairman of DLSA Vijay Kumar directed DLSA Secretary Kumar Kranti Prasad for taking immediate action on the directive. The DLSA Secretary visited the houses of the deceased Bijesh Rana, Dulal Singh Modak and Pinku Karji and met their families. He consoled the family members of each of the deceased and assured them of providing all possible legal aid. The DLSA Secretary said that under the social security scheme, applications had been sent to the department for assistance of Rs. 1 lakh each to the three families. In addition, followup has commenced for another provision under which Rs 2,000 per month will be provided as maintenance of the children of Bijesh Rana and Pinku Karji.

DALSA has also initiated the process of linking them families of the three deceased with other social security schemes. In addition, the process of filing suit for getting proper compensation from the Court under Motor Accident Claim to the family of the deceased has also commenced.
