Jamshedpur, June 10: According to the instructions of the state government, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has planned an enhancement of shop rent 800 times. Opposing the move, BJP State Working Committee member Bharat Singh said that the decision to increase the rent by 800 times would be against the monetary interests of city shopkeepers.
“During the COVID-19 waves, the shopkeepers had to keep their shops shut resulting in loss of income. With the situation gradually becoming normal, shopkeepers have been allowed to open their shops and are now limping back to earning ways. By raising shop rents 800 times, speak very poorly of the government intents,” said Bharat Singh. He has opposed this rent enhancement move by the district administration and demanded withdrawal of the rent enhancement or else, a public movement would be launched against the new rent rules.
