Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Citing persistent inconvenience faced by passengers, Arun Joshi, Member of the Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC), South Eastern Railway, has urged the railway authorities to consider Tatanagar and Adityapur as a single station in the reservation system.
In a letter addressed to South Eastern Railway General Manager Anil Mishra, Joshi pointed out that the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and IRCTC platforms do not reflect Tatanagar and Adityapur under the same station principle. As a result, passengers—particularly patients, railway employees and students—often face difficulties while booking tickets.
Drawing a parallel with the Ranchi–Hatia model, where both stations are treated as one in the system, Joshi suggested that a similar arrangement be implemented for Tatanagar and Adityapur. He noted that several trains are now operating from Adityapur, making it essential to align the reservation system with ground realities to ensure passenger convenience.
Joshi emphasized that South Eastern Railway should take proactive steps in this direction to ease travel-related hardships.
A copy of the letter has also been forwarded to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Chakradharpur, for necessary action.
