Jamshedpur, April 22: The Eco Club of DBMS College of Education organized a series of activities on the occasion of Earth Day to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. The event saw participation from seven colleges across the city, with drama and debate competitions being the main highlights. Anni Amrita and Poonam Mahanand served as judges.
Speaking on the occasion, judge Anni Amrita emphasized the importance of learning from nearby villages, where people maintain cleanliness even without municipal services. Co-judge Poonam Mahanand encouraged students to take an active role in protecting the environment.

Addressing the gathering, College Principal Dr. Joohi Samarpita said that protecting the environment is crucial for survival, especially in an industrial city like Jamshedpur. Vice-Principal Dr. Monica Uppal highlighted the importance of the five elements of nature—earth, water, fire, air, and sky—and stressed the need to conserve them.
In the drama competition, the first prize was won by Anjali Kumari, Artika Jyoti, Tanishka Yadav, Guriya Kumari, Navneet Kaur, and Isha Kumari. The second prize went to Aditi Kumari, Akanksha Das, Muskan Chhabra, Nisha Bhattacharjee, and Supriti Das, while the third prize was secured by Neha Mittal, Nikita Tirkey, Anjali Mandal, Tanushree Das, Moumita Chakraborty Sen, and Priyanka Poddar.

In the debate competition, Rambha College of Education won the first prize, followed by DBMS College of Education. Nitya Jha was awarded Best Speaker, while Priyanka Tiwari secured second place.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of faculty member Mousumi Datta and attended by college officials, staff, and students.
