Jamshedpur: During a high-level review of the Supply Department, Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Nagendra Paswan ordered surprise inspections to ensure that all food grains reach beneficiaries in the correct quantities and on schedule. He emphasized that the administration will take swift action against any official or dealer found guilty of irregularity or negligence.
The meeting, held at the Collectorate Auditorium under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan, focused on streamlining welfare schemes and improving grassroots service delivery.
Prioritizing Farmer Welfare and Procurement
Reviewing the Paddy Procurement Scheme, the DDC instructed officials to enhance farmer participation at Large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS). He stressed that strengthening these procurement mechanisms is essential to ensure farmers receive the full Minimum Support Price (MSP) and maintain income security.
Grievance Redressal and Ration Card Transparency
The DDC conducted a detailed audit of pending complaints on the PGMS portal and applications under the ERCMS. He set strict deadlines for resolving these cases, demanding a high-quality grievance redressal system that leaves no complaint unaddressed.
Key schemes reviewed during the session included:
-
National Food Security Act (NFSA)
-
Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme
-
Dakia Yojana & Doorstep Delivery
-
Mukhyamantri Chana-Dal Vitaran Yojana
Cleaning the Beneficiary List
Officials received clear instructions to expedite the verification process to identify and remove ineligible ration card holders. The DDC noted that a transparent system must prioritize the inclusion of all deserving individuals while eliminating leaks in the distribution chain.
ADM (SOR) Rahul Anand, District Supply Officer Zulfiqar Ansari, and other senior department staff attended the meeting to coordinate the implementation of these directives.
