Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Managing Director and CEO, T.V. Narendran, has announced a major leadership reshuffle, effective May 1. As part of the changes, DB Sundara Ramam, currently Vice President (Raw Material), has been appointed as Vice President (Corporate Services), replacing Chanakya Chaudhary who will retire after 36 years of service.
Additionally, the Corporate Communication Department will now report directly to the MD and CEO. Chief Corporate Communication Tata Steel, Sarvesh Kumar, will now report directly to the MD and CEO under this new structure.
In another significant move, VP (HRM) Atrayee Sanyal has been elevated to Chief People Officer of Tata Steel Group. She will now oversee employee and officer management across Tata Steel’s global operations.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Kumar, Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited (TSDPL), has been appointed Vice President (Raw Material), Tata Steel. A mining engineer from ISM Dhanbad, Sandeep Kumar joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee (GT) in 1991. He has held several key roles in mining operations and also served as MD of Tata Metaliks Ltd.
Following Kumar’s move, Jagjit Singh, currently Chief of Logistics at Tata Steel, has been named the new Managing Director of TSDPL. He will operate from Kolkata.
Further, Sirsendu Mukherjee, Chief Operations at Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) of Tata Steel, has been appointed as Chief of Logistics for Tata Steel.
