Jamshedpur: On the final day of the Wildlife Week Celebrations 2018 at the Tata Steel Zoological Park, an on-the-spot painting competition was organized. A total of 900 students from 30 schools participated in the competition which was followed by the closing ceremony during which Chief Guest Dr. Ashok Kumar, Regional Commissioner, EPFO, GOI and Guest of Honour Radhika Singh presented awards to the winners of the on the spot painting competition.

The on the spot painting competition was organized for four categories � Primary Category (Nursery � Std 1), Junior Category (Std II-V), Middle Category (Std. VI-VIII) and Senior Category (Std. IX-X). The winners in these categories were Bhumi Sharma of Valley View School (Primary Category), Parachi of Tagore Academy (Junior Category), Prem Kr. Das of KPS, Gamharia (Middle Category) and Vikas Prasad of Shiksha Niketan (Senior Category).
The judges for the competition were Krishna Sharan Mahato and Jaspal Singh of Jamshedpur School of Art. Present during the event from Tata Steel Zoological Park were Bipul Chakrabarty � Director, S.K. Mahato � Curator and all Zoo staff.
Wildlife Week Celebrations started on 2nd October 2018 and witnessed a number of events including Best Eco Club Award, Inter School Essay Competition, Inter School Debate Competition, Fancy Dress Competition and On the Spot Painting Competition. A total number of 1400 students across 30 institutions participated in these competitions.
Wildlife Week Celebrations were coordinated by Dr. Seema Rani, Biologist cum Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park and Amlan Das ,Bharti, Vinay Kr. Pandey Rahul Tiwary � Zoo Volunteer. The programmes Debate and Fancy Dress Comp were sponsored by Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur ZEST & Lions Club of Jamshedpur Steel City during the Wildlife Week Celebrations 2018.
Nestle India Limited handed over gift hampers to all winning participants and sponsored goodies to students who took part in the painting competition. This was their first such attempt with a zoo in India.
