Criminals decamp with valuables worth over Rs 2 lakh at Mango

Jamshedpur : Criminals decamped with valuables worth over Rs 2 lakh by breaking open the door of a house at Hill View Colony in Dimna under MGM police station area. The thieves took valuables from Nagendra Singhs house when he was away in Odisha.

Officer-in-charge, MGM police station, Shanker Thakur said that the Singh is a contractor in Odisha and has gone there along with his family members having kept his house lock and key.

“As per our information a man Bhuvnesh Kumar had visited Singh’s house to feed fishes in the aquarium kept in the front varanda of the house and then only he noticed the door was lying open. On entering into the house, he found the almirah was broken and articles lying strewn on the floor. Sensing that there must be a burglary in the house, he informed the police,” said Thakur.

According to police, the burglars had tried to break open the locker of the steel almirah, but failed to do so.
“I spoke to the victim who will be coming to the city tomorrow or day after for lodging an FIR. But from the conversation with him it was clear that the burglars must have taken away articles of little value as the gold ornaments were saved as the locker is still intact,” said the police officer. He said that as per his estimation the burglars must have decamped with valuables worth over Rs 2 lakh, but the exact amount lost will be known only when Singh comes here.

There has been a spurt in the incidents of thefts and burglaries in the city. With most of the policemen deputed on elections duty outside the East Singhbhum districts, the criminals are finding it very easy to commit thefts or burglary with impunity.
