Criminal arrested with arms in Gamharia

Gamharia, Sep 20: Gamharia police arrested one Sheikh Abdulla of Purulia (West Bengal) with illegal arms on Tuesday.

According to Rajeev Kumar, officer-in-charge of Gamharia police station, “The accused was caught during a vehicle checking drive near Usha More. He was riding a bike. On seeing the police, he started running away. He was caught after a chase.”

Cops seized a revolver, a country-made pistol and five bullets from the possession of the accused.

According to police, Abdulla is involved in over nine crimes reported at Jhalda, Purulia. The accused had come to Gamharia to supply arms to someone by the name of Karu, said police.
