Ranchi: The hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of MLA Saryu Rai has been completed and the court of Additional Judicial Commissioner Yogesh Kumar has reserved the decision.
This case is related to the allegation of stealing the confidential page of the departmental file related to the payment of incentive amount.
In May 2022, Saryu Rai had informed the media that 60 employees of health department, including Health Minister Banna Gupta, were given Covid incentive amount. Illegal withdrawals of Rs 103 crore have been made under this head. The committee of the Health Department prepared a list of 94 employees falling in the eligibility category, but a list of 60 additional names was sent to the department from the cell of the Health Minister.
After investigating the matter, the investigator has filed a charge sheet in the special court of MP-MLA. Additional Secretary of Health Department Vijay Verma had lodged an FIR under the Official Secrets Act at Doranda police station.
