CGST Officials Pedal for Fitness and Tax Compliance

Jamshedpur: The Central Goods & Services Tax (CGST) and Central Excise, Jamshedpur Commissionerate organised a ‘Sundays on Cycle’ awareness ride on Sunday morning to promote fitness and tax compliance.

The rally commenced from GST Bhavan, rolled through Gopal Maidan, TMH Roundabout, Monument Road, the Voltas Building, and P&M Mall, before concluding back at GST Bhavan. Senior officers of the Commissionerate led the cycle ride. Participants carried banners, flags, and placards conveying messages like ‘Fit India’ and ‘Tax Compliance is Nation Building’.

Leadership on Environmental and Economic Goals

Anand Kumar, Commissioner of CGST & CX, Jamshedpur, stated that such initiatives—especially in compliance with the Prime Minister’s recent call for fuel conservation—promote national service, security, and fitness among citizens. He noted that the event reflects the department’s commitment toward environmental sustainability and stronger public engagement.

Ran Vijay Kumar, Additional Commissioner of CGST & CX, Jamshedpur, added that tax compliance serves as a key pillar of nation-building. He emphasized that these outreach programmes help strengthen trust and awareness among citizens.

Wide Public Participation

Joint Commissioner Abhinaw Kumar supervised the event, while officials including Superintendent Vijay Kumar, TA Mohit, and EA Satykam actively managed and organized the procession.

Hundreds of officers, staff members, children, and local citizens participated enthusiastically in the event. Notable attendees included Assistant Commissioners R K Bariyar, Lokesh Sharma, and A K Rajwar, alongside Superintendents Anand Kumar, Dhananjay Kumar, Amit Sinha, Santosh Verma, Anuj Raj, and R K Verma. The successful event concluded with participants logging online to claim their ‘Fit India’ certificates.
