Cops clueless in Rs 2 cr theft in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 14: Police are still clueless about the thieves who took away cash and ornaments worth Rs 2 crore from the house of businessman Ajay Modi from Rajendra Nagar locality of Sakchi recently.

Sources said police are interrogating Krishna, the domestic help of the businessman’s family, on the basis of suspicion. Modi had gone out of the city with his family on a trip when the thieves entered his house and stole away cash worth Rs 60 lakh and ornaments. Later, Modi lodged an FIR against unidentified persons with the Sakchi police station.

According to ASP City Subhanshu Jain, police investigation into the theft is still one. He said CCTV footage was being scanned to get a clue about the thieves. Cops suspect a gang of thieves targeted the house in the absence of the family members.
