Congress misleading youths on Agnipath scheme: Jamshedpur BJP

Jamshedpur, July 13: Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP leaders lambasted Congress party for resorting to politics in the name of protesting Centre’s Agnipath scheme.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, District BJP president Gunjan Yadav said the Congress party wanted to mislead the youths of the country by spreading rumours on the Agnipath scheme. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to raise a strong army of youths in the country. The Congress-led previous governments failed to bring any such scheme to instill patriotism and discipline in the youths. Agnipath is an ambitious scheme of the Central government which would give a golden opportunity to youths to serve the army,” he said

Yadav said the Agnipath scheme was finalized on the advice of defence veterans and experts. He appealed to youths to give no ear to the rumours being spread about the scheme at the behest of Congress party and anti-national elements.

Youths enthused by Agnipath scheme: Prem Jha

Jamshedpur, July 13: Jamshedpur Mahanagar BJP spokesperson Prem Jha Wednesday said the ongoing protests by the Congress against Centre’s Agnipath scheme were purely inspired by political considerations. He said the youths were excited to join the army which was evident from the huge number of applications received by the defence forces.

Jha said the Congress had made big promises to the youths of the state during elections but later cheated them. He said the Agniveers would be given priority in recruitments by the state police, CRPF, BSF, ITBP and several other organizations.
