Dhanbad: The political landscape of Dhanbad is in disarray following controversial statements made by Baghmara MLA Dhullu Mahato in a local newspaper. In response to the allegations levied against him by the MLA, Congress District President Santosh Singh has issued a legal notice to Dhullu through a High Court lawyer.

Simultaneously, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s central executive member, Amitesh Sahay, has declared his intent to file a defamation case against MLA Dhullu Mahato. Sahay strongly criticized Dhullu, emphasizing that the MLA should have been aware of Amitesh Sahay’s identity before seeking help.

District President Santosh Singh refuted the allegations, stating that over three dozen cases, including extortion and threats, have been registered against MLA Dhullu, who has also faced imprisonment. Singh challenged Dhullu to provide evidence if there were any cases against him. Singh asserted that the people of Dhanbad are well aware of the MLA’s wrongdoings and demanded a public apology for the statements made in the newspaper. Failure to apologize would result in Singh filing a defamation suit against Dhullu in court.

Amitesh Sahay accused Dhullu of betraying previous associates, including Samaresh Singh and Babulal Lal, and highlighted alleged involvement in questionable financial activities, such as a water park construction and a partnership in Madhuban Colliery. Sahay claimed that Dhullu’s actions aim to exploit state and central funds, interfere in poor farmers’ lands, and engage in land recovery under the guise of outsourcing.

In response to the allegations, Amitesh Sahay mentioned a pending case in the High Court, Ranchi, regarding the acquisition of benami property. Sahay also emphasized Dhullu’s alleged collaboration with officers to earn money and promised to release CCTV footage or images supporting his claims.
Addressing Dhullu’s comments about his character, Amitesh Sahay asserted his commitment to serving the country as an income taxpayer and stated that no proof of character is needed from anyone. Sahay concluded by condemning Dhullu’s attempt to distribute character certificates in the district, describing it as both ridiculous and shameful.
