Jaynagar (Koderma): The foundation stone laying ceremony for crucial bridges and road projects in various areas of the block, costing crores, took a distressing turn as anti-social elements broke the laid foundation stone just hours after Koderma MP and Union Minister of State for Education, Annapurna Devi, and Barkatha MLA Amit Kumar Yadav conducted the ceremony.
The incident, which has stirred discussions throughout the area, has left BJP workers fuming. Eyewitnesses reported discovering the foundation stone scattered on the ground in the evening, though no information on the perpetrators is available at this time.
The MP and MLA had performed a ceremonial unveiling of the stone slab in the morning after offering prayers with full rituals. The projects under the scheme include special repair work on the road from Beko to Naitand, development of the Block Development Officer cum Circle Officer residence, supervisory staff residences, and third-fourth class employee residences. Additionally, plans encompass the development of the block complex and various new construction works.
Among the specific projects laid out were the special repair work of the road from Jaynagar to Irgobad via Block Office Jaynagar, special repair work of the road from Kathadih to Kosmadih (4.920 km), and the construction of a bridge on the Akto river in Gopaldih-Mahuatand road.
In attendance were Zila Parishad Vice President Nirmala Devi, Block Chief Anju Devi, Deputy Chief Raj Narayan Singh, Zila Parishad member Kedarnath Yadav, Zila Parishad member representative Devnarayan Yadav, former chief Jaiprakash Ram, Bindeshwari Prasad Bihari, Ramdev Modi, Yamuna Yadav, Sudhir Singh, Chief Rajkumar Yadav, Kishore Sao, Ganpat Yadav, Asha Devi, Manoj Yadav, Sunil Yadav, Rajendra Das, Durga Kumar, Ishaq Ansari, Kumkum Devi, Subodh Bhadani, Vijay Yadav, Munna Kumar, Kishun Yadav, Virendra Swarnkar, Raju Sao, Kundan Gupta, and others. The investigation into the foundation stone’s destruction is ongoing.
