Jamshedpur: Baharagora MLA Samir Mohanty handed over ₹50,000 in compensation, approved by the Forest Department, to the family of Budhni Soren, who was killed in an elephant attack. The MLA met the bereaved family at the Community Health Centre on Wednesday and offered his condolences. “This incident is extremely tragic,” he said, assuring that concrete measures would be taken in collaboration with the administration and the Forest Department to prevent such occurrences in the future. Mahanti further emphasized his commitment to ensuring maximum support for families affected by elephant attacks. Present at the occasion were Block President Asit Mishra, Block Health Officer Utpal Murmu and other dignitaries.
