Jamshedpur, July 5: The most elaborate government hospital in Kolhan is in pretty bad shape in the fields of treatment facilities and manpower and upkeep where usually the financially weak segment goes for medical attention. This has been the sorry status of MGM College and Hospital in the city. One pertinent poser has been the unavailability of hospital beds a majority of which are occupied by cured patients who have nowhere to go. This is one of the many areas that require strict monitoring. As such, a monitoring committee has been formed to keep a close eye on the improvement of facilities and services at the MGMCH.
A meeting of the Jharkhand Human Rights Organization (JHRO) was held in Bhuinyadih under the chairmanship of the organization’s chief, Manoj Mishra. An unanimous demand for constituting a monitoring committee to keep a tab on development work at the MGMCH.
Manoj stated that the doctors in the hospital shy away from prescribing medicines thereby causing financial constraints to patients already under monetary crunch. “We have demanded for the constitution of a monitoring committee to note irregularities at the MGMCH and ensure streamlining all facilities,” the JHRO chief said. Those present during the meeting included Kishore Verma, Shyamlal, Gurmukh Singh, Rishi Gupta, RC Pradhan, Jagannath Mahanty, Salawat Mahto, Rishi Kumar, DN Sharma and Harishchandra Sablok.
