A meeting to the effect will be held by the Baridih Gurudwara Committee on Thursday, July 7 to chalk out the details of organizing Guru Hargobind Ji’s 394th Prakash Parv on Sunday, July 10. The information was in the form of a joint release by the committee’s Chairman Kartar Singh, President Kulwinder Singh, Executive President Sandeep Singh, Vice President Kuldip Singh and General Secretary Sukhwinder Singh. The Kirtan Darbar will be attractively decorated and the life and times of Hargobind Ji will be elaborated upon. This will be followed by Langar (free kitchen in Gurudwaras) where Missi Roti, onions and Lassi will be served to devotees. According to traditional history, 394 years ago, Baba Budha Ji, the Wazir of Guru Ghar, was also the beacon of the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan dev Ji’s Darbar. He had blessed Mother ganga Ji to have a child and had advised her to eat Missi Roti, onion and lassi. According to Sukhwinder Singh, Mother Ganga Ji had come to Baba Budha Ji with gifts comprising various dishes to seek his blessings but she was turned away. Then, on the advise of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Mother Ganga Ji went as a commoner with Missi roti, onion and lassi and she got his blessings in the form of a son. At a period in time, Baba Budha Ji smashed an onion with his fist to explain that the heads of enemies should be smashed in an identical manner. After the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Guru Hargobind Ji ensured that the peace loving Sikh society also could also take up arms as warriors to fight against enemies.
