Jamshedpur, July 7: A cleanliness drive was launched in Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency on Sunday on the directive of state food and civil supplies minister cum senior BJP leader Saryu Roy. Several groups of BJP workers visited various localities in the constituency and identified areas where garbage was found dumped carelessly.

Party officials said a list of such places would be prepared and handed to the authorities of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and Mango Municipal Corporation for necessary action.

The party leaders said they had observed that there were no dustbins in many localities, as a result of which the local residents are forced to dispose waste in open places. Due to non-disposal, the waste gets spread in the locality. At many places, the waste is also clogging the drains, they said.

Among those who participated in the campaign included Gopal Jaisawal, Rakesh Singh, Prem Dikshit, Pinki Kaur, Manish Pandey, Sushila Sharma and Pramila Sharma.
