Church School Beldih celebrates Olympic Day

Jamshedpur, June 23: Church School Beldih marked Olympic Day and annual Handball Day with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and staff. The celebration began with an opening prayer by teacher Jasmine Kandulna, setting a solemn tone for the day.

The event was formally inaugurated by Apanash Kumar Das (Honorary School Secretary), Esther Mohanty (Acting Principal), Proshila Joshua (Senior Co-ordinator), Noreen David (Middle Co-ordinator), Sanjiv Das (Primary Co-ordinator), Debashish Das, Reena Singh, and Asfaq Ahmed from the Sports Department. Distinguished guests Dr. Hassan Imam ( Handball coach, Tata Steel, Jharkhand) and Md. Hakeem Mansoor (General Handball Secretary, Jharkhand) graced the occasion and congratulated the school on celebrating the spirit of sports.

Student Ishita delivered a compelling speech on Olympic Day, followed by various competitions including drawing, debate, and speech, providing a platform for students to showcase their creativity and knowledge on sports, Olympic values, and national unity.

The day also featured the Annual Handball Festival, where Dr. Hassan Imam addressed the students, highlighting the importance of discipline and leadership in the sport. Students enthusiastically participated in handball, volleyball, football, carrom, chess, and yoga sessions.

In her address, Acting Principal Esther Mohanty encouraged students to engage in regular physical activity and embrace Olympic values — excellence, respect, and friendship. The program concluded with the national anthem and was a resounding success, thanks to the collective efforts of all involved.
