Jharkhand Health Minister Orders Probe into Air Ambulance Crash

Ranchi: Seven people died after an air ambulance crashed in Chatra, Jharkhand. State Health Minister Irfan Ansari expressed grief over the incident and ordered a detailed investigation. He said authorities will not spare anyone found responsible.

The minister visited Chatra on Tuesday morning to meet the families of the victims. He reached the Sadar Hospital, inspected the bodies and reviewed post-mortem arrangements.

At the site, he directed Deputy Commissioner Kirtishree and Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar Agarwal to ensure a thorough probe. Speaking to reporters, Ansari described the crash as one of the biggest air ambulance tragedies in Jharkhand.


Action Against Those Responsible

Ansari assured the victims’ families that the government stands with them and will provide appropriate compensation to dependents. He said investigators will examine every aspect of the crash and take strict action against those found guilty.

He questioned why the aircraft took off despite bad weather conditions and said officials will include this aspect in the inquiry.

The minister also acknowledged shortcomings in Jharkhand’s healthcare infrastructure. He accused the opposition of obstructing development projects, including plans to set up a high-tech hospital in the state.

Local MP Kalicharan Singh, MLA Janardan Paswan, Additional Collector Arvind Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer Zahoor Alam, SDPO Sandeep Suman, the Civil Surgeon and other officials were present at the hospital.
