Jamshedpur — South Eastern Railway launched an intensive ticket checking drive across the Chakradharpur Division to curb ticketless travel and enforce safety norms. The large-scale operation successfully penalized hundreds of violators and recovered significant revenue.

Railway authorities deployed ticket checking teams and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at high-footfall stations and onboard several trains. The operation prioritized peak travel hours to maximize impact.

• Chakradharpur, Rourkela, and Jharsuguda
• Gamharia, Chaibasa, and Barbil
• Rajkharsawan, Bamra, and Bondamunda

Enforcement and Revenue Recovery

During the drive, officials detected 284 cases of ticketless or irregular travel. Authorities collected a total of ₹2,34,320 in fines from these offenders. Officials emphasized that these enforcement actions minimize revenue leakage and ensure fairness for law-abiding passengers.

The drive also targeted behavioral violations to maintain a passenger-friendly environment. Authorities penalized individuals for:

• Littering: Fining passengers found throwing trash on platforms or inside coaches.
• Smoking: Issuing penalties for smoking in prohibited areas of the railway premises.
