Chaiti Chhath festivities conclude in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 15: The four-day Chaiti Chhath festival, celebrated as a symbol of folk faith and sun worship, concluded with the offering of Arghya to the rising sun on Monday.

Devotees gathered in large numbers at Chhath Ghats across the Kolhan division, including Swarnarekha and Kharkai river banks to offer prayers for happiness and peace for their families.

The festivities included offerings to Lord Bhaskar at sunrise on Monday and sunset on Sunday. Sidhgora Suryadham Mandir witnessed thousands of devotees flocking to the Chhath Ghat pond in the Sun Temple complex to offer Arghya to Lord Bhaskar.

The atmosphere was filled with devotion as devotees worshipped Chhathi Maiya and Lord Bhaskar, accompanied by the melodious songs rendered in ode to Chhathi Maiya.

The Sun Temple Committee facilitated the celebrations by providing refreshments to devotees and ensuring cleanliness at the Chhath Ghat ponds.

The entire temple complex was adorned with colorful lights, decorations, and flowers, enhancing the festive spirit.

Security arrangements were overseen by local administration officials and temple committee members to ensure the safety of devotees during the celebrations.
