Jamshedpur Head Post Office gets self-booking Speed Post kiosk

Jamshedpur, July 3: The Jamshedpur Head Post Office has launched a state-of-the-art Speed Post Self-Booking Kiosk, offering customers a faster and more convenient way to book postal articles. The facility was inaugurated as part of the Government’s Digital India initiative and is expected to improve the overall customer experience.

The self-service kiosk allows customers to book Speed Post articles without waiting in long queues at postal counters. Users can weigh their letters, documents or parcels, enter the destination details by following simple on-screen instructions, and complete the payment using digital modes such as UPI, QR codes or debit and credit cards. Once the transaction is completed, the kiosk instantly generates a booking receipt, eliminating the need for staff assistance.

Senior Postmaster Sudhir Kumar said the new facility is designed to provide a quick, transparent and hassle-free booking process for customers. He appealed to residents, businesspersons and young people to visit the Jamshedpur Head Post Office and experience the digital self-booking system.

He said the kiosk would save time, reduce waiting at counters and encourage greater use of digital services, making postal operations more efficient and customer-friendly.
