Jamshedpur: Top Govt officials Aim for 100% Voter Coverage in SIR

Jamshedpur: Top government officials reviewed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign on Friday. Kolhan Divisional Commissioner Ravi Ranjan Kumar Vikram and District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Rajiv Ranjan conducted an on-site inspection in Kadma on Friday.

The officials visited multiple polling booths to assess how the electoral roll revision programme is being executed. During the inspection, Vikram and Ranjan scrutinized the work of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), reviewed record maintenance, form verification processes, voter outreach efforts, and strict adherence to Election Commission guidelines.

They instructed the BLOs and their teams to contact eligible citizens and ensure 100% coverage within the official deadline.

Key Focus Areas of the SIR-2026 Drive

The administration highlighted that the integrity of the voting system relies heavily on this revision. The core focus areas include:

1. New Enrolment: Registering all eligible citizens who are not yet on the voter list.
2. Purging Data: Deleting the names of ineligible, deceased, or permanently shifted voters as per official norms.
3. Corrections: Making necessary data corrections transparently to maintain an error-free database.

An Appeal to Citizens

While interacting with locals present at the polling stations, the officials urged residents to proactively verify their names in the voter list. They advised eligible citizens to quickly submit the prescribed forms for any fresh registrations or corrections.

The Deputy Commissioner concluded by directing all supervisors and BLOs to process every incoming application promptly, ensuring that no eligible voter is left behind.
