Jamshedpur woman thrown out of husband’s home, seeks justice from City SP

Jamshedpur, April 15: Shehnaz Parveen, a resident of Mango, lodged a complaint with the City SP after allegedly being thrown out of her husband’s house who later remarried. According to Shehnaz, her marriage to Bismil Arif of Jugsalai Purani Basti, was solemnized on November 16, 2021, in accordance with Muslim customs, turned sour when she was subjected to dowry harassment four months into the marriage. Shehnaz gave birth to a daughter on November 17, after which she was ousted from her in-laws’ home. Shehnaz further informed that Bismil Arif was already married and had deceived her by claiming that his first wife had left him. Despite filing a complaint at the women’s police station regarding Bismil’s second marriage on April 2, no action was taken. Shehnaz now sought appropriate action from the City SP to address her grievances.
