CCTV cameras, 1200 seating capacity in renovated Bengal Club

Jamshedpur, March 8: A renovated Bengal Club, Sakchi, has opened its doors again. Renovated with an expenditure of about Rs 1.5 crore, Bengal Club was reopened for the public by Chief Minister Raghubar Das along with former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jharkhand food and civil supplies minister Saryu Rai and other dignitaries including Anand Sen, president, TQM (Total Quality Management) and Steel Business, Tata Steel, and Ashish Mathur, managing director, Jusco.

Raja Chowdhury, vice-president of Bengal Club, said that it is like a dream coming true. The club has been transformed into the state-of-the-art auditorium for the people of Jamshedpur. This is a heritage site and thus it was a dream to get this place back to its olden glory.

Tapas Mitra, president of Bengal Club, delivered the welcome speech for the evening. The inauguration program was also followed by a dance drama titled ‘Mystic Tagore,’ directed by city-based choreographer Reshmi Chowdhury.

The newly renovated club has a main hall with a capacity of seating 1200 people and will be utilized for cultural programs. The premises will soon boats of a banquet hall for 250 people on the first floor.

The club also has six rooms that can be taken on rent for various purposes. There is an in-built audio system and eight CCTV cameras for better security.
