Jamshedpur, March 1: City police here on Wednesday cracked down upon drug pedlars ahead of Holi. They seized over 25 sacks of cannabis (Bhang) from a bus at Mango bus stand and arrested one person. The sacks were loaded in the bus by the pedlars and were being taken to Patna.

According to DSP Headquarters I Virendra Ram, “We had got a tip-off about one person carrying cannabis into the city in a bus. Plain-clothed cops reached the bus stand and waited for the bus. No sooner did the bus arrive, the officers seized the consignment.”

The DSP said investigation had begun into the source of the consignment. An interrogation is on to elicit details of the drug pedlars’ racket, he said.
