Jamshedpur, June 17:  In a letter addressed to the President, Tata Workers Union, the former Kolhan Commissioner and Chairman of Netaji Subhas Manch (NSM), highlighted the significant contributions of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to the city of Jamshedpur. He emphasized the need to honor Netaji’s legacy by naming a major road in the city after him and erecting a grand life-size statue at a prominent intersection.

He in his letter has mentioned that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a renowned revolutionary and freedom fighter of our nation, shared a deep and intimate relationship with the iron city of Jamshedpur. During his tenure as the President of the Tata Workers Union, Netaji undertook numerous historic initiatives for the welfare and benefit of the workers. Remarkably, under his leadership, there was never a strike at TISCO for eight years—a testament to his welfare policies and effective work system.

Furthermore, the mutual harmony established between Netaji and the Tata Company during his chairmanship continues to flourish even today. However, it is noteworthy that Jamshedpur, a city built by the Tata Company, lacks any monument, statue, or road named after the revered freedom fighter.

The citizens of Jamshedpur have expressed a longstanding desire to honor Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and it is fitting to fulfil their aspirations. Therefore, the former Kolhan Commissioner and Chairman of Netaji Subhas Manch have put forth two significant demands: firstly, to name a major road within his jurisdiction after Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and secondly, to install a magnificent life-size statue of Netaji at the prominent Bistupur-Adityapur roundabout.
