Jamshedpur, April 25: In a shocking incident that has triggered panic in the locality, a young man was brutally attacked with a machete in the Ulidih police station area on Saturday.
The incident took place at Shankosai Road No. 5, where Abhinandan Sahu, a resident of Sankosai Road No. 1, sustained grievous injuries in what is suspected to be a fallout of an old rivalry.
According to reports, the assailant suddenly launched a violent assault on Sahu, striking him repeatedly on the head and other parts of the body with a sharp weapon. The ferocity of the attack left the victim severely bleeding, collapsing on the spot.
Local residents quickly alerted the family members, who rushed to the scene and immediately shifted the injured youth to MGM Hospital for urgent medical care. Doctors attending to him have described his condition as critical, and he remains under close observation.
Family members have alleged that the attack stems from a long-standing dispute. They have identified the accused as Vijay, with whom the victim reportedly had prior conflicts. While tensions between the two had surfaced multiple times in the past, the exact cause of the feud is yet to be established.
Meanwhile, the Ulidih police have registered a case and launched an intensive manhunt to apprehend the accused. Officials have assured that the accused will be arrested soon and a thorough investigation will bring the full details of the incident to light.
The incident has spread fear across the neighborhood, raising concerns over safety and law enforcement vigilance in the area.
