Burglars decamp valuables worth Rs 5 lakh at Mango

Jamshedpur ; Despite efforts, cases of thefts and burglaries have become a regular affair in the city.

In yet another incident, a gang of burglars decamped with gold ornaments and valuables worth over Rs 5 lakh from a house at Daiguttu in Mango in the wee hours today.

The burglary took place at the house of Vijay Krishna, a transporter. At the time the crime took place Krishna was out of the town. At the house were his wife.

One of the burglars in the police net has been identified as an electrician who had visited the house recent past. The police are interrogating the accused, identified as Santosh Kumar (28), a resident of Mango.

During the inspection, the victims found that the burglars had decamped with suit-case containing costly cloths beside the gold ornaments which were worth over Rs 5 lakh.

Officer-in-charge, Mango police station, HN Majhi confirmed it to be a case of burglary. “We have picked up one of the suspects and are trying to find out miscreants involved in the incident,” said Majhi.
