Build at least 50 toilets in each block everyday: DC Amit Kumar

BDOs and Panchayat Sevaks performing well to be honoured on Nov 15

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner (DC) Amit Kumar here on Thursday announced that the block development officers (BDOs) and panchayat sevaks performing well would be honoured on the occasion of Jharkhand’s foundation day ceremony.

Addressing the BDOs during a meeting of the District Coordination Committee at his office, the DC directed all BDOs to ensure speedy implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) projects on a priority basis. He asked the BDOs to provide a list of toilets found dysfunctional or removed. He said the dysfunctional toilets would be constructed and made functional.

Kumar said the state government was providing the necessary resources and funds to all blocks for achieving the ODF target. He said every block has to work to its full capacity to make sure the goal is achieved within the deadline. He said the work should be completed in a planned manner. He warned officials against showing slackness in work.

The DC asked the BDOs to speed up the toilet construction work. He said the work should be allotted to various agencies to achieve the target. He said the BDOs had the full responsibility of completing the toilet construction work. He said a minimum of 50 toilets should be constructed in each block every day. The photos of toilets built in these blocks should be uploaded speedily, he said.

Reviewing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana projects, the DC said the housing units should be built before 15th November.

Also present at the meeting, the deputy development commissioner (DDC) Suraj Kumar directed the junior and assistant engineers of all blocks to follow the instructions of BDOs and Circle Officers.
