Ranchi: BJP national president Amit Shah today gave a clarion call to party workers in Jharkhand to prepare hard for a sure victory in the upcoming state Assembly elections by following the ‘booth jeeto, Jharkhand jeeto’ (win booths, win Jharkhand) mantra.

Addressing the huge gathering of party workers at Prabhat Tara ground in Dhurwa on his maiden visit, Shah appealed to party workers to prepare themselves for the polls with a target of clinching no less than 70 Assembly seats out of the total 81.

“We won the Lok Sabha elections by dint of the charisma of our leader Narendra Modi. Jharkhand gave 12 seats for the Lok Sabha. However it was not a cakewalk for the party workers who worked really hard for the victory. Now it is time to pull up socks for the Assembly elections for a historic win,” said the BJP leader whose speech reverberated with loud sheers and clapping by the hundreds of party workers waving party flags and banners.

Shah said the BJP could win by more than a two-third majority in the Assembly elections provided its party workers were vigilant at booth level. He however cautioned party workers against slackness in booth management which he termed as the backbone of party’s basic election winning strategy.

“The party workers should work at booth level under the leadership of Narendra Modi for a sure win. Attention should be paid to publicize the achievements of the PM in the first 100 days of his tenure so far. The development having taken place so far should also be given due publicity and information in this regard should be taken to the people at grassroots level,” Shah told party workers.

Taking a dig at the Congress for the plight of Jharkhand, Shah said the state should not have been so backward and under-developed as it had an abundance of mines and minerals with rich natural resources to fuel its meteoric growth.

“After a decade, the country has got a PM who takes firm decisions and also speaks out his mind. He is keeping his promises made to the people and transforming India into a developed country,” Shah said.

Surprisingly, Shah did not speak on Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) or All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) in his speech as he kept his gun trained on the Congress. He said the BJP will not allow middlemen and black marketers to obstruct Jharkhand’s progress. He said he was overwhelmed by the support and welcome extended by party workers on his arrival at the Ranchi Airport.
