Jamshedpur: A delegation of Bhumij Samaj led by Potka MLA Menka Sardar met Chief Minister Raghubar Das and ministers Neelkanth Singh Munda and Amar Bauri in Ranchi on Saturday and expressed their gratitude to the state government for agreeing to give second state language status to Bhumij language.
The outfit members gave bouquets to the Potka MLA, Ghatsila MLA Laxman Tudu, Ichagarh MLA Sadhucharan Mahato, Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi and MLA Ramkumar Pahan.
Speaking to the outfit members, the CM said the state government was committed to the overall development of the state and its people.
The outfit members said the Potka MLA had taken the demand for according second state language status to Bhumij seriously and promised to raise it. They said the other MLAs had also raised the issue several times. They further demanded that a degree college should be opened in Potka. They said the CM had assured to fulfill their demands very soon.
The delegation members included Zila Parishad president Bulurani Singh, Dinesh Chandra Sardar, Raju Sardar, Lalbabu Sardar, Sonu Sardar, Manoj Kumar Sardar, Shatrughan Sardar, Balram Sardar, Birbal Sardar, Sharad Singh Sardar, Rahul Sardar, Prakash Sardar and Vikas Sardar.
