Bhumij leaders plan agitation for second language status

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Tribal Bhumij Council members on Sunday announced their plan to launch an agitation in favour of their demand for second state language status to Bhumij. They said a bicycle rally would be taken out from Hata to Ranchi. Bhumij leaders would meet Jharkhand governor Draupadi Murmu and hand over a memorandum to her demanding fulfilment of the demand as soon as possible.
Speaking at a meeting held in Juri at Jadugora, the national president of the outfit Sidheshwar Sardar said the demand for second language status to Bhumij was 15 year old. Now the time has come when the demand should be fulfilled, he said.
