Jamshedpur, Feb 17: The construction work of the culvert linking Baridih to Moharda would be expedited soon. In a bid to ensure speedy completion of the pending construction work, officials of Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited visited the project site on Thursday. Sudhir Singh, personal secretary of Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy, also visited the project site.

Sources said the work of shifting power cables would soon be sped up and completed.

Roy’s secretary said the approach roads leading to the culvert would be repaired to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent road jams.

Sources said earlier, the project work was tediously slow and Jamshedpur MP Saryu Roy had expressed dissatisfaction in this regard. A letter was sent to the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum to draw his attention to the inconvenience caused to the people in general by the rather slow speed of project work to the people.

Roy had earlier also written to the senior superintendent of police, Jamshedpur, M Tamil Vanan, in this connection and sought measures to prevent frequent road jams in the city.

The contractor of the culvert construction project has reportedly sought three months time to complete the work, sources said.
