Bangiya Utsav to held on March 16 at Jamshedpur Gopal Maidan

Jamshedpur, Mar 5: The Bangiya Utsav Samiti will organize a grand Bangiya Utsav at Bistupur Gopal Maidan on March 16, 2025, aiming to bring together Bengali-speaking communities across Jharkhand and promote Bengali culture.

A preparatory meeting was held at Milani Hall Auditorium, Bistupur, where a new committee was formed. Amit Kumar Patra was unanimously nominated as the President of the committee. “This year, we will organize an even grander Bangiya Utsav under the guidance of respected intellectuals and cultural leaders,” said Patra.

The festival will feature renowned Bengali artists, including Paushali Banerjee, the queen of Bengali folk music from Kolkata, Kundan Kumar and Kanika Karmakar from RARD Bangla Manbhum Purulia and Jharkhand’s noted Bengali singers Ankita Basu Banerjee and Rana Banerjee.

The organizing committee will be expanded in the coming week to ensure smooth event preparations. Prominent attendees at the meeting included Aparna Guha, Purbi Ghosh, Anshu Sarkar, Mithilesh Ghosh, Shubhankar Chatterjee, Babulal Chakraborty and several others.

The Bangiya Utsav is expected to revitalize the cultural spirit of Bengali-speaking communities in Jharkhand while preserving the region’s rich Bengali heritage.
