Jamshedpur, March 5 : Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda,who campaigned for the BJP in Tripura from February 8 to 11 to register overwhelming victory in Assembly polls, was accorded heroic welcome in the city.
Party workers along with supporters under the leadership of BJP leader Amarpreet Singh Kale gathered at Sakchi and garlanded Munda on his arrival in the city. Supporters raised slogans and congratulated Munda for his role in ensuring party’s victory. Tripura went to polls on February 18 and the results were declared on March 3.
Kale said that the overwhelming performance in the Assembly elections led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah has swept the country. He said that Munda is a mass leader and he played key role in motivating the voters in party’s favour.
“The voters have given their verdict against Congress Party and other divisive policies of opposition parties. People have voted in favour of development schemes of the Prime Minister Modi and accepted them, and that the results proved it,” he said while addressing the function.
He said that Modi’s charismatic personality has helped party reach new heights under his leadership. He further said that under Modi’s leadership the party is heading for Congress free India as the saffron party has established its imprint from North-East to Jammu and Kashmir to Kerala. Kale congratulated Munda, Modi and party president Amit Shah for splendid performances.
The party workers were also excited to welcome Munda. “Even when Mundaji was the Chief Minister, he interacted with us freely and frankly and for every single work we got his help when needed,though. And, this I believe is the reason behind his mass popularity,”opined, a worker of BJP.
“From the very first day we were confident of our party’s win and we feel relieved to see our candidates heading towards an easy win. We are happy that the party has regained power. Every party worker had toiled and they deserve to be lauded. Modi’s charismatic personality and his vision of development too favoured our party, voters has shown faith in his leadership,” said another activist.
