Jamshedpur, June 17: The month-long APR Nair Junior Cricket Tournament for school children is set to conclude with its final match on June 22 at Gandhi Maidan in Mango.
In the second semifinal played on Wednesday, Sankosai defeated Baganshahi XI by 13 runs to secure a place in the final. Arnav played a key role in his team’s victory and was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for his outstanding performance. The award was presented to him by social worker Dr. Afroz.
The tournament featured matches in Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16 categories, providing a platform for young cricketers to showcase their talent throughout the month.
Organisers said winners and runners-up from all three age groups will be honoured during the prize distribution ceremony following the final match on June 22.
Former Ranji Trophy cricketers Rajkumar Yadav and Manoj Yadav have been invited as chief guests for the closing ceremony and prize distribution function.
