Annual sports organized by Tagore Academy

Jamshedpur, Feb 01: The annual sports day of Tagore Academy, the educational wing of Tagore Society was organized at Sumant Moolgaonkar Stadium in Telco. Tagore Society president Dr HS Paul said on the occasion, �Sports and sporting activities are significant parts of life. Schools are the centres where all round development comprises physical and mental growth. A healthy mind�s perfect abode is a healthy body.�

Tagore Society�s general secretary, Asish Chowdhury observed, �The Tagore Academy, besides laying emphasis on studies, is always alert to developments in other socio-cultural zones to enhance the development of students. Education, art, cultural pursuits and sports constitute the fulcrum of development of potentialities in students.�

The school students were divided into four groups. The Vindhya House emerged the winners while Nilgiri was runners up. Std XI students participated in the march past where they exhibited perfect cohesion and marched in tandem.

The sports events were anchored by Sanhita Lahiri. School�s principal Madhuchhanda Majumdar led the organizing team that included Subol Chatterjee, Samir Roy, Mita Banerjee, Arindam Bhattacharya, Anita Pal, Sadhana Srivastav and Lily Banerjee.
