Jamshedpur: Members of Jamshedpur Workers College Committee of All Jharkhand Students Union burnt an effigy of Kolhan University Vice Chancellor on Tuesday to protest against alleged corruption in the various departments. They demanded a high level probe into the corruption charges against several university officials.
The agitators said a delegation of students led by AJSU student leaders would soon meet Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu and apprise her of the level of corruption in various university departments. Evidence of corruption would also be handed over to the Governor, they said.
AJSU president for KU, Hemant Pathak, said the university will not be allowed to become a hub of corruption. He said the corruption officials should be removed from their jobs as soon as possible.
Among others present during agitation included Kallol Karmakar, Shahnaz Parveen, Anamika Barua, Asha Kumari, Zoba Khan, Sangeeta Pandey, Ranjan Pramanik and Shashank Mahato.
