Strict vigil at West Bengal order, DC gives instructions
Jamshedpur, May 6: About 900 migrant labourers are expected to return from Hyderabad on Thursday morning. A train carrying the workers is scheduled to reach Tatanagar railway station tomorrow between 4 am to 7 am. Soon after their arrival, the passengers will undergo medical check-up at the station premises from where they will be sent to their respected districts.

In order to review the preparations, deputy commissioner Ravi Shanker Shukla along with other officials inspected Tatanagar railway station. He informed that a special train carrying 900 labourers will reach the station. The health department officials will conduct the medical check-up besides taking swab samples of all the workers.

Shukla along SSP M Tamil Vanan inspected preparation for screening at Tatanagar railway station.�We have put up several banners and posters at the railway station to educate passengers. Moreover, suspected passengers are will be screened at the station after they arrive,�said Sukhla.

The officials informed that the after the tests those passengers found carrying symptoms will be subjected to quarantine. Those having complaints of sneezing and fever will be asked to remain in home quarantine for the next 14 days.

�We will take swab samples of the suspects for getting them examined in the MGM Medical College. We will also keep a vigil on those returned so that they do not develop some symptoms,” said the official.
He said the district administration has set up quarantine centres as they expect hundreds of migrant labours to return to the district within the next few days and many of them may be in need of getting accommodated in the quarantine centres, they are keeping the centres unoccupied.
�We do not have community spread now, and when it happens, it will be a huge challenge. We are ready to manage any situation. We have isolation wards in medical college hospitals and quarantine facilities,� an official said.
Officials of Tatanagar railway station informed that the situation is being constantly monitored and coordinated at all levels. The official said that desks have been set up all over the railway system and the staff has been sensitized and educated about the subject. The collaboration and coordination with the concerned health authorities are also being ensured.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner along with Jharkhand Police officials and others, also inspected Jharkhand � West Bengal border for the facilities are being provided to the migrants and corona relief centers during COVID-19 lockdown at Baharagora area.
