Jamshedpur’s Anya Das appointed Balasore Assistant Collector


Jamshedpur, May 6: Sonari resident Anya Das who secured 60th rank in the UPSC Examination has been appointed Assistant Collector of Balasore (Odisha). Anya is undergoing Phase -1 training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie and will take charge on May 8. She informed her family that she has been appointed as assistant collector in Balasore.

Odisha government on Friday appointed new assistant collectors in six districts on May 3.
‘We are very happy and proud to say that our daughter, who got a good rank in her second attempt, has finally been appointed as Bureaucrat. Her hard work of years has become fruitful and we want her to work hard for the benefit of the poor people in the society ‘, said Anya’s father Indubhusan Bhuiyan alias Badal Bhuiyan.
He informed, Anya passed out of Rajendra Vidyalaya (RV) in the year 2013. She had been a diligent student all through her student life. She pursued her graduation under the aegis of Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, Odisha. She had been very focused in her pursuit of Excellence. In her first attempt in 2016, she scored 597th rank and qualified for the Indian Railways Personal Service and served the Indian Railways in Baroda.
Anya’s father is a writer and is editor of 25 year old Odiya magazine ‘Singhbhum’. He earlier used to work with Lafarge. Anya’s mother Seema Das is a housewife while her younger brother is pursuing BBA from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi.
Along with Anya, five others have also been appointed as assistant collector in Odisha.
