Chakulia/Jamshedpur, June 5: Our ancestors gave us green earth to flourish and we are supposed to take the responsibility of environmental protection for generations to come, said Chief Minister Raghubar Das during inaugural function of World Environment Day at Chakulia, around 68 km from steel city.
Addressing a programme organized by Forest Management and Conservation Committee on the eve of World Environment Day at Chakulia, CM said, Jharkhand is a developing state and state government is implementing development schemes rapidly. During planning we give special care for environment protection. As much as we take from nature, the more we will have to return it, added Das.
CM announced ‘PED LAGAO, PAANI BACHAO’ campaign will be launched from 15th of June to 15th of August, 2016. During the campaign school students, ministers, MLAs and officials will go through a Green Affidavit to understand their responsibility for environment protection.
‘Jharkhand government is planning to hand over the responsibility of aforestation and forest preservation to women self-help groups. Whoever works in the interests of society will be regarded. If Women will discharge this responsibility perfectly then state government will drop appointment of forest guards’, added the CM.
On this occasion Das further said, Soon the positive effects of domicile implementation will be visible. Year 2016 will be year of recruitment and youths should focus on it. CM noted that his government has planned to strengthen JharCraft.
Trained women folk will produce blanket, bed sheet, pillow cover etc. and government will supply the products to hospitals, offices and other places.
