Jamshedpur, June 4: The absconding accused in the Sunita Devi murder case was arrested on Sunday. Police team led by Animesh Nethani, DSP (City), KN Ram, Police Inspector cum Telco Police Station in-charge, Janak Singh of Telco Police Station, Babu Pradhan of Telco PS, Home Guard driver Santosh Kumar and Police Armed Forces raided several places and arrested the main accuse Krishna Machua from Nildih Chowk.
Police also recovered the country made pistol used for the crime from Krishna’s possession. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, SSP Anoop T Mathew said, Krishna Machua is the son of Shiv Machua, resident of Jemco Machua Basti under Telco Police Station.
The other two accused Chandan Ghosh, a resident of nearby Azad Basti, and Sardar Battu Singh, of Manifit who were nabbed by local people and handed over to Telco police were taken into custody, added SSP.
Significantly, 35-year-old Sunita Devi, wife of Uday Prakash Sharma, a temporary employee of Tata Motors was shot at by three criminals in her house in Manifit Bagan Area under Telco Police Station at 11.30 pm on Friday, June 3 died during treatment at TMH on Saturday morning. The criminals were accused of stealing fuel and spare parts from vehicles parked in the locality.
Two of the criminals were nabbed by local people but the main shooter, Krishna Machua, managed to flee the scene.
SSP said, three youths with faces covered, knocked on the door on late Friday night and when Uday’s wife opened the door, they abused Uday and asked him to come out. Soon, Sunita tried to push them and tried to close the door when one of them shot her.
SSP informed that Chandan and Sardar have a criminal history and have been to jail for stealing automobile parts earlier.
