Jharkhand Govt is giving tablets to teachers to improve teaching
Jamshedpur, January 22: The Jharkhand government will distribute tablets to teachers in state-run primary and middle schools to enhance teaching and learning processes. Led by the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), the initiative will provide 28,532 tablets across the state.
East Singhbhum will receive 1,994 tablets, while West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan will receive 2,108 and 1,131 tablets, respectively.
East Singhbhum District Education Officer (DEO) Manoj Kumar stated, “Primary and middle school teachers who have been identified and selected will receive the tablets.”
This initiative is expected to bolster digital education and improve the teaching-learning process in government schools across Jharkhand. Guidelines issued by the JEPC specify that only teachers using biometric attendance through the E-Vidya Vahini platform are eligible for the distribution.
Shashi Ranjan, the JEPC Project Director, confirmed in a letter to the District Superintendent of Education (DSE) that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with M/s SiBIEN Learning Cart Private Limited for the procurement and one-year maintenance of the tablets.
The DSE will identify eligible teachers at the district level and provide their details to Block Education Officers (BEOs). Teachers will be called to Block Resource Centres (BRCs) for verification and distribution. Tablets will be supplied to BRCs in all 264 blocks of the state.
After distribution, teachers will be fully responsible for the tablets’ security. In case of technical issues, the devices must be returned to the District Project Office for repair or replacement.
