168 akharas to take part in flag immersion procession in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In preparation for the grand Ram Navami flag immersion processions, the Jamshedpur district administration has put in place an elaborate security and administrative setup. A total of 168 Akharas will participate in the immersion processions on Monday, prompting authorities to divide the city into 35 zones and 9 super zones to ensure peace and order.

Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal informed that 1188 police personnel and 251 magistrates have been deployed across the city. Each super zone will have its own Super Zonal Magistrate and Super Zonal Police Officer, ensuring that law enforcement is well-coordinated and responsive.

To monitor and manage sensitive areas, 135 static magistrates have been assigned. These officials will remain stationed in key locations to tackle any emerging law and order issues swiftly. Additionally, the District Control Room will function round-the-clock, with two officers on duty in rotational shifts and a third in reserve.

In terms of backup, 33 magistrates have been kept in reserve — 21 for the Dhalbhum subdivision and 12 for Ghatsila — to be deployed as needed. The immersion processions will culminate at various river ghats, for which 7 zones have been designated. These will be supervised by 7 zonal magistrates and 32 static magistrates to manage crowd control and ensure safety at immersion points.
