Youth Congress warns of protest over Jamshedpur’s poor civic conditions

Jamshedpur, July 3: The Jharkhand Pradesh Youth Congress has strongly criticized the deteriorating civic conditions in the non-TISCO areas of Jamshedpur. State General Secretary Rakesh Sahu, in a press release, said that while the public was reeling under the effects of floods, poor sanitation, and administrative neglect, elected representatives remained indifferent and were offering only hollow statements.

Sahu highlighted the dire situation of people residing along riverbanks, stating that no effective relief or cleanliness measures had been taken in these flood-affected areas. The lack of action had increased the risk of disease outbreaks due to stagnant water and garbage accumulation.

He warned that if alternative arrangements were not implemented soon to provide relief, the Youth Congress would be forced to take to the streets. Planned actions include gherao of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee office and a sit-in protest at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, followed by submission of a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister.

Sahu urged the administration and local leaders to take immediate and serious action to address the public’s problems, failing which the Youth Congress would escalate its agitation.
